I’m in the mood for love…
With just over a week until Cupid fires his naughty little arrow, Valentines preparations need stepping up a gear. Valentines or Saint Valentine’s Day, as you may know it, is celebrated every year on the 14th Feb and proves the largest and most flamboyant international celebration of love. Valentines has become a notorious double-edged sword in most societies, whilst even the thought of Valentine’s Day fills many with fluttery butterflies and a lust for all things romantic, for others it gets them reaching for a paper bag in a negative opposition of the traditional conventions as they spend the night with reality TV and a microwave meal for one.
However, a celebration of love has no restrictions, does it? Nobody to tell you who or what or how to indulge your affections? So whether you’re caught up in the valentine hoo-hah or avoiding it like the plague, it’s important to not get caught up in the façade and remember you’re true loves! So, my number one love is undoubtedly that of fashion! Self-centred and perhaps a little narcissistic, I know, but nothing gets me excited quite like some fine fabrics, intricately designed with opulent detailing and a perfect silhouette, I need to get out more…
Anyway, I thought I’d combine my fanatical passion with a sprinkling of Valentine’s spirit and bring you my top Three for Valentines, perfectly suited, if not obvious choices and fearlessly fashioned for a celebration of lurveeee.
The Code range in Black, from Italian Lingerie Specialists Lovable Lingerie epitomises the elegance of the glamorous 1950’s in which the brand was established. The unpadded, sheer cups offer a striking refinement that brings provocative edge and a vintage twist whilst the underwire and fabric contouring provide lift, support and shape. A timeless combination of mesh and lace accents, provokes an alluring charm. The Code range would not look out of place between hotel sheets in a glamorous Black & White Hollywood film. A beautiful notion that encompasses the nostalgia of vintage sensuality.
Next up, our personal favourites here at Bras and Honey, Freya have recently launched the amazing Flourish, an exquisite lace and bold floral print collection in an array of tropical colours, contrasted with black art deco inspired graphic trim. The range firmly delivers femininity and flair, with a playful print executed affectionately in an eclectic range of styles. The Longline padded bra reigns supreme as my personal favourite using padded cups and a Balcony style to offer a demure natural cleavage whilst the Longline shape boasts seductive charm. Complimentary Jade hues and Blossom pinks combine and continue onto the adjustable straps as darling satin bows finish the design for certified sexiness. Rest assured, this is the only bouquet I want this Valentines.
The Monet from Freya has been charmingly inspired by the colours and themes of the artistry in Monet’s paintings. Romantic violet and pinks hues fuse in a whimsical petal print, evocative of the sensuality associated with Valentines in a sophisticated tone. Amongst the range is the beautiful Monet Chemise, a fabulous and super special alternative for those valentines’ nights at home with your loved ones or Graham Norton on the telly. Trimmed in a vibrant shade of green, the Monet beams with luminous elegance perfectly suited for the celebration without a heart in sight!
Which is your favourite? Do you love or loathe the celebration? Do you need an address to send all the beautiful Bras & Honey ladies (...and Michael) Valentines gifts? Get in touch and let me know.
