Another trend focused post!
Bras&Honey are offering an exclusive 25% until the 1/4/2014, so for those who needs a little inspiration with their transitional purchases, I thought I'd provide you with a conclusive insight into the current Bras&Honey front-runners, corresponding with the directional SS14 trends.
Enchanting imagery of fairytale inspired notions have graced the campaigns of many a design house in the rise of Spring/Summer fashion. Fanciful detailing and delicate fabrics entwine with a romantic essence for a trend that transpires directly into our lingerie collections.
An elegant and fresh Garden Party represented in the decorative Robyn from Fantasie. Refreshing tones of Aqua and Spearmint are celestially enhanced by flashes of dusty beige and ivory lace accents, flawlessly finished with sweet harlequin bows. Available in a Full-Cup Bra, Brief, Short and Thong.
Sophisticated, sumptuous and delightfully styled. The Fauve Coco in Powder Puff is a pretty collection that boasts intricate Art Deco influences and nostalgic shapes for gentle femininity. The soft Powder Puff tone with lace overlay implements the romantic aesthetic in a muted nod to the whimsical trend.
Candy Pastels are providing the palette undertone to the whimsical trend and an undeniably sweet overtone for spring’s gone by. The Elsa in Soft Damson from Panache infuses our favourite haze of Lilac with a delicate combination of sheer mesh and embroidered lace for a sumptuous adaptation of the trend that’s both fun and flirtatious.
Rich colour palettes, bold and exaggerated prints, elaborate detailing, embellishments and plush, luxury textures in an array of affluent fabrics, bond the glamorous connections of the opulence movement with a luminous update to the previous AW13 pieces; just in time for spring. Gothic influences and inspiration taken from the Orient prompt direct connotations in terms of tonal selections, shape and texture that surface in the ranges of some of our favourite Lingerie and Shapewear collections.
A total front-runner in terms of Luxury Shapewear, the Envy in Black from Panache delineates sensuality and sexuality in a collection that provides firming control without disputing style. Sheer jacquard panels and a classic dog-tooth design channels unadulterated sophistication for a provocative feel that mirrors the mysterious, glamour of the opulence take-over. Available in a High-Waist Brief, Balconnet Bra and Classic Brief.
An interesting take on the opulent trend, the Dentelle from Elle Macpherson approaches the Opulence inclination with classic contouring, exposed seams and a luxury lace overlay, identifying vintage lingerie construction in a vivid shade of Apricot Blush, an unambiguous connection to the colour pallet of the prominent Eastern influence pertinent to this glamorous Spring movement.
Ticking all the boxes of the opulent trend, the Fantasie Martina in Bronze features Black mesh and embroidery with a metallic bronze lining, a striking mix of texture and tone that relinquishes conventionality for a prestigious and exaggerated captivation of the trend. To tick yet another box, this range is currently in the Sale and will take you through Spring/Summer to the following Autumn Winter when the Opulence evolution will continue.
A splash of Cobalt, a squeeze of Magenta and a dash of Lime. We’re intoxicated by the Cocktail Party trend here in the Bras&Honey office and the vibrancy and vigor of this movement shows no signs of dulling or slowing down. Bold colour pallets in playful designs with quirky features, make us delighted to embrace this trend whole heartedly.
Vibrant Hot Pink Rose petals scatter a bright canvas of Duck Egg Blue in the Valentina, Sea Breeze from Elomi. The complimentary mix of contrasting colours, styled with a cute floral graphic defines this lively trend for a collection that will enhance not only your assets but your mood too. Available up to a HH cup.
With a recent blog post dedicated to the Spring Summer collections of Lingerie tycoons Freya, I openly voiced my adoration for the new fashion-colour way in the cult-classic Deco style. The Lagoon features an eclectic infusion of Lilac, Lime and Jade in a Coral-reef inspired pattern, printed boldly on a Cobalt backdrop for maximum impact.
The acclaimed Superbra Tango style from Panache is now available in an audacious Deep Pink colour-way, a spirited shade that’s totally Cocktail Party certified. This beloved style offers uncompromising fit and support but do be warned; this exclusive fashion shade needs confidence and courage to keep up with the designs striking energy and strong aesthetic. We protest that you give it a go.
The Tribal trend has been dominant for the last few summers, annually being re-invented with specific influences and detailing that offers a divergent twist with each following season. Indigenous prints, Folklore references and African inspired embellishments provide the prominent overtone for the SS14 movement. This trend lies heavily in its contrasting tonal palettes and eclective mix of pattern and shape.
Emerging Lingerie and Swimwear talent, Huit have hit the (Tribal) nail on the head with the Huit Tropic Jungle in Surfer Blue. Often a movement lead by earthy shades of neutral brown, beige and black the Tropic Jungle provides a fun interpretation of the trend with a Jungle inspired print in a combination of vivid primary hues for a Retro revival of an ethnic depiction. Also note how the cut-out detailing on the Bandeau Bikini offers a little something extra to conform to the compelling shape and structure features, parallel to this trend.
A vibrant adaptation of a floral print, the Lotus Blossom range from Fantasie Swimwear channels a feminine and striking approach to the Tribal trend. Another Tribal piece with a lack of organic colour, the Kyoto is my favourite for both print and style. The Lotus Flower motif takes prominence from Eastern/Japanese culture and provides an intriguing update to the traditional floral gravitation.
A classic interpretation of the Tribal trend lies in the forever popular and super glamorous Savannah range from Panache, now available in Animal Print. This instinctive representation of the movement features a neutral tonal palette in a remarkable and iconic Animal print that will never date. Wear mix-matched for extra style points or team with the co-ordinating bottoms, fashioned with ruched side panels for a slimming effect.
RETRO BEACH BASH
Whenever I get the chance to don a bikini and catch some rays I invariably choose a bright and playful design in an interesting shape for transcendent statement beach wear. SS14 has already showcased a head-turning array of seaside styles that mirror the current ready-to-wear trends of our day-time wardrobes with an extra special something to propose confidence in our most vulnerable hour. The Retro Beach Bash overhaul combines decorative print, stimulating fabric texture and high-fashion detailing with contouring retro inspired styles that make this trend a universal winner.
Utilizing the prevalent practice of Geometric print, the Jecca from the fresh and fun Cleo by Panache adopts the super-cool traits of this retro revival with a clean blend of primary bolds. The high-waisted styles, long-line choices and halter-neck shapes delivers a 50’s pin-up adaptation that’s both flattering and fun.
Nothing quite says Beach party like a brash Jungle print and a fruity cocktail of colour. The Dominica in Tropical from Fantasie is a total high-flier from our spring Swimwear range, offering a fearless montage of resolute bolds and botanical graphics. The A-symmetrical Swimsuit is my first choice from the fun collection and boasts glamour with eloquent jungle imagery adorning the front for a complimentary design that diverts the eye away from our wobbly bits. Mix and match with the Cobalt briefs for versatility and flair.
Available in two irresistible colour choices the Tallulah from Panache is a sensational choice, covering a broad range of style and taste preferences whilst conforming sublimely to the Retro trend, browse the collection and establish if you’re a conservative Charcoal kind of girl or a risk-taker with the dynamic Blue alternative. Both colour-ways feature the fold, low-rise and high-waist brief with a Balconette, Bandeau and Tankini co-ordinate, alongside a cut-out back Swimsuit for an unprecedented vintage presence. The Charcoal design channels a more demure approach to the retro trend with a bold magenta floral and slimming panels that makes the style completely un-age restrictive. The blue alternative, finished in a metallic sheen offers that same design form with a brazen attitude enhanced by metallic panelling and fabric, essentially a candid interpretation of the retro movement asserting that unambiguous quality of 80’s fashion.
